Patricia A. O'Neil, 84, of 150 Ashland St. died yesterday at North Adams Regional Hospital, where she was admitted Nov. 20, 2003. Born in Middlebury, Vt., on Jan. 23, 1919, daughter of George and Angelina Farrell, she was a graduate of Middlebury High School. She attended Middlebury College for one year. She moved to the area 60 years ago. She was last employed by the former Adams Nursing Home, Williamstown, for 10 years, retiring in 1982. She had also worked for the former Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams for 28 years, retiring in 1972. After her retirement in 1982, she worked part time at the North Adams Adult Day Care Center for 10 years. Mrs. O'Neil was a communicant of St. Francis' Church. She enjoyed serving on political campaign committees. Her husband, Thomas J. O'Neil Jr., whom she married in 1941, died Nov. 17, 1972. She leaves two sons, Thomas S. O'Neil of Williamstown and Gary O'Neil of Bennington, Vt.; three daughters, Barbara Alarie of Hampton, N.H., Eileen Tisdale of Adams and Kathleen Gregory of Dalton; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Another daughter, Denise M. O'Neil, died June 19, 1971. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Patricia O'Neil will be Friday, Jan. 16, 2004, at 10:15 from the AUGE-SAN SOUCIE-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 at St. Francis of Assisi Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the North Adams Adult Day Care Center through the funeral home, 46 North Church St., North Adams, MA 01247. She was predeceased by three brothers and two sisters. She enjoyed her grandchildren.
