Ann M. "Nan" Condron

Ann M. "Nan" Condron, 78, of New Port Richey, Fla., and Contoocook, N.H., formerly of Peru, died Dec. 14 at Bay Tree Rehabilitation Center in Palm Harbor, Fla. Born in Medford on Aug. 16, 1925, daughter of Edward A. and Mary A. Sousa Willard, she graduated from Medford High School and received her bachelor's degree cum laude from Tufts University in 1947. She also received her master's in education cum laude from the University of Maryland. Mrs. Condron was employed as a guidance counselor with the Montgomery County (Md.) School Board of Education in Rockville, retiring in 1982. Before moving to Maryland in 1959, she was a teacher in the Arlington and Wellesley school districts. During the late 1940s and early 1950s, she worked at the Girls Club, now Girls Incorporated, and served as its camp director. She also taught dance classes there and in various school systems. While living in the Berkshires, she attended St. Charles' Church; in Florida, she attended St. Thomas' Church. She was a member of the Montgomery County Teachers Association, Maryland State Teachers Association and Phi Kappa Phi at the University of Maryland in College Park. She enjoyed tennis, golf and traveling. Her husband, Francis P. Condron Sr., whom she married Jan. 9, 1967, died Sept. 16, 1995. She leaves two stepsons, Francis P. Condron Jr. of Edna, Texas, and John F. Condron of Grand Prairie, Texas; two stepdaughters, Mary Beth LaPier of Edna and Priscilla Black of Clemons, N.C. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Ann M. "Nan" Willard Condron, who died Dec. 14, 2003, will be Wednesday, Jan. 21, at 10:15 from DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 11 at St. Charles' Church by the Rev. Peter A. Gregory, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, memorial donations may be made to the Berkshire Humane Society in care of the funeral home. Mrs. Condron is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
