Marcia L. Sparks

Marcia L. Sparks, 85, of 155 Marble St., formerly of Summer Street, died yesterday at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Lee on Oct. 9, 1918, daughter of William and Elizabeth Cheney Andrews, she was a graduate of Lee High School. She was a member of St. George's Episcopal Church and a member of its Episcopal Church Women. She was a former member of the Altar Guild and Vestry at the church. She was a homemaker who enjoyed baking and crocheting. Her husband, Everett L. Sparks, whom she married Sept. 5, 1936, died in 1989. She leaves three sons, Gordon L. Sparks, Alan B. "Mickey" Sparks and Eric E. Sparks, all of Lee; two daughters, Susan E. Bernado and Deborah L. Homes, both of Lee; one brother, Bruce Andrews of Stockbridge; one sister, Marion C. Andrews of Lee; 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Marcia L. Sparks, who died Jan. 16, 2004, will be Tuesday morning at 9:15 from the KELLY FUNERAL HOME, with services at 10 at St. George's Church, with the Rev. Canon Noel A. Bailey, rector, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be Monday from 4 to 7. In lieu of flowers, friends wishing may make donations to the Lee Regional Visiting Nurse Association or to the Lee Fire Department. She leaves her grandchildren, Garry, Beth, Richard, James, Ronald, John, Jeffrey, Bethany, Megan, Todd, Christopher, Corey, Carrie and Courtney; her great-grandchildren, Edward, Kyle, Ryan, Lauren, Morgan, Justin, Robert, Sara, Jennifer, Mikayla, Michael, Riley, Bailey and Chase, and her great-grandchild, Makayla; her sons-in-law, Alfred and Richard, and her daughters-in-law, Shirley, Cathie and Jane.
