Lillian D. Simon, 78
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Lillian D. "Lee" Simon, 78, of 327 State St. died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2004, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield after a long illness.
Born in North Adams on June 26, 1925, daughter of Salem G. and Mabel Williams Simon, she was a graduate of Drury High School.
Miss Simon was employed by the former Berkshire Fine Spinning Associates in Adams and for its Greylock division on State Road. When the plants ceased operation, she worked at the former Cornish Wire Co. and its successors, Carol Cable Co. and General Cable Co. in Williamstown, until her retirement in 1987.
She was a lifelong communicant of St. Francis' Church.
She leaves four sisters, Naheela Ferris and Rose Pause, both of North Adams, Ann Herbert of Pittsfield and Lois Shadyac of Vienna, Va., and three brothers, Frederick Simon and George J. Simon, both of North Adams, and Robert M. Simon of Manassas, Va.
She was predeceased by two sisters, Pearl Simon and Mary Simon, and by three brothers, Louis Simon, Simon S.G. Simon and Marvin Simon.
FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Miss Simon will be Wednesday, Feb. 4, at 12:15 at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 1:15 at St. Francis' Church. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery.
Private calling hours for relatives and friends will be tomorrow from 4 to 7. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested for FORD of Berkshire Medical Center through the funeral home. Survivors include nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
