Constance Winifred Voltoline

Constance Winifred Voltoline, 91, formerly of 39 Day St., died Saturday at Hillcrest Commons, where she had resided since July 25, 1999. Born in Adams on June 11, 1912, daughter of Richard and Leah Robitaille Phelps, she attended schools there. A homemaker, Mrs. Voltoline was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and enjoyed cooking, canning and gardening, and was an accomplished seamstress. Her husband, Joseph J. Voltoline, whom she married July 20, 1931, died Sept. 26, 1996. She leaves two sons, Francis R. Voltoline of Debary, Fla., and John J. Voltoline of Meriden, Conn.; a daughter, Mary Eastland of Alvin, Texas; four brothers, Francis Phelps of Shelburne Falls, Ronald Phelps of Plainfield, Ernest Phelps of Wildmare, Calif., and Nelson Phelps of Adams; three sisters, Violet Tetreault of Greenfield, Evelyn Degan of Cheshire and Theresa McConnell of Sun Lakes, Ariz.; 13 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. A son, William D. Voltoline, died on Jan. 24, 2001. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Constance W. Voltoline, 91, who died Feb. 7, 2004, will be Thursday at 9:15 from DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at Sacred Heart Church celebrated by the Rev. James K. Joyce, pastor. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Wednesday from 5 to 7. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation in care of the funeral home. Mrs. Voltoline is also survived by many nieces and nephews and was predeceased by a sister, Glorina Paquette, and a brother, Robert Phelps.
