Ida D. Mannello

Ida D. Mannello, 85, of 122 West Gate Drive, Port Orange, Fla., formerly of Great Barrington, died yesterday at home. Born in Canaan, Conn., on July 29, 1918, daughter of Peter and Rose Palafini Zucco, she was educated in schools there and later moved to Great Barrington. She moved to Port Orange in 1978. Mrs. Mannello was employed as an assembly worker at the Wash'n Dri plant in Canaan, retiring in 1976 after 20 years of service. While in Great Barrington, she was a communicant of St. Peter's Church. In Florida, she was a communicant of Epiphany Catholic Church. She was a member of the Famous Bech Charter Chapter of American Business Women's Association in Daytona Beach, Fla. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, cooking, music and was an Elvis fan. Her husband, Carmine Mannello Sr., died in 1992. She leaves a son, Carmine Mannello of Port Orange; three daughters, Rose Anne Stewart of South Daytona, Fla., Theresa Bernoi of Great Barrington and Barbara Percy of Sheffield; a sister, Albina Jones of Great Barrington, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Ida D. Mannello, formerly of Great Barrington, died Monday, March 8, 2004, at her home in Florida. A graveside service will be conducted Monday, March 15, at Elmwood Cemetery at a time to be announced. A Liturgy of Christian Burial is being held in Florida. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 to 4 at FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME. She leaves a son and daughter-in-law, Carmine and Deborah Mannello; three daughters and their spouses, Rose Anne Stewart, Theresa and Ronald Bernoi, and Barbara and Donald Percy; four grandchildren, Sandra Garrett, Kelly McCuin, Donald Percy Jr. and Mark Bernoi, and two great-grandchildren, Brian and Matthew McCuin.
