KATHLEEN M. HAMEL

Kathleen M. Hamel, 59, of 15 Cummings Ave., Williamstown, MA, died Thursday, December 14, 2000 at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, MA, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Pittsfield, MA on August 12, 1941. She was the daughter of Charles Vaine Hamel and Katherine (Steinhoff) Hamel. She attended schools in New Ashford, MA, including the New Ashford Grammer School. She attended the Notre Dame Parochial School in Pittsfield, MA. She graduated with the class of 1959 at the Putnam Catholic Academy in Putnam, CT. She was employed at Berkshire Life Insurance Company in Pittsfield, MA for a short time until moving to Japan where she taught English to Japanese students for 12 years. She then mved back to Berkshire County where she was emloyed at the George Anderson Construction Company in Lanesboro, MA. She was last employed as the owner and operator of the Blue Peacock Antique Store at 585 South Main St., Lanesboro, MA until the time of her death. She loved flowers and was an avid gardener. Survivors include: 1 brother: Kevin P. Hamel of Williamstown, MA, and her sister-in-law Sandra Lee Hamel. 2 nieces: Michelle E. Connell of Williamstown,MA, and Eleizabeth A. Robinson fo Pittsfield, MA. 2 grandnieces: Kathleen & Alexandra Connell of Williamstown, MA, and several extended family memebers including: Peter Anderson of Lanesboro, MA, Linda Bates, Sara Davis,& Teresa Davis of Pittsfield, MA, and an uncle Charles Stienhoff of the state of California. And several cousins. Funeral services for Kathleen M. Hamel will take place Tuesday afternoon at 4:00 PM at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA. Burial will take place at a later date in the family plot in Wastlawn Cemetery, Williamstown, MA. Calling hours at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA are Tuesday from 2 PM until 4 PM. Memorial donations are suggested for the H.E.R.O.A. Project, a project for fund under insured Breast & Cervical Cancer patients or the Berkshire County Humane Society through the Funeral Home.
