Raymond Biagini

Raymond J. Biagini, 86, of 70 Main St. died Saturday at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Cheshire on Jan. 8, 1915, son of Ralph and Adella Graziani Biagini, he attended local schools. Mr. Biagini was employed by GE as a crane operator and foreman for 34 years. He retired in 1976. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church and served as a crossing guard for 17 years, as an election officer for 19 years, as a constable for 22 years and as a member of the Cheshire Volunter Fire Department for 17 years. He also served as dog officer and as a member of the Berkshire County Deputy Sheriff's Association. He leaves his wife, the former Delina T. Barosso, whom he married March 30, 1940; a son, Ralph C. Biagini of Cheshire; two brothers, Anthony Biagini of Cheshire and the state of Florida, and James Biagini of Pittsfield; a sister, Pierina Barosso of Pittsfield; a grandson, and a great-granddaughter. The funeral will be tomorrow, Wednesday, at 9:15 from DERY-CHESHIRE FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Cheshire celebrated by the Rev. John Smegal, administrator. Burial will follow in Cheshire Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home on North State Road will be today, Tuesday, from 4 to 8 p.m. He was predeceased by a brother, Myro Biagini. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cheshire Volunteer Fire Department or to the Adams Ambulance Association, both in care of the funeral home.
