William Morrisey

William J. Morrisey Jr., 84, of 4363 Minerva Drive, Green Acres, Lake Worth, Fla., formerly of North Adams, died Friday at Integrated Health Services in Lake Worth. Born in Arlington, Vt., on July 25, 1916, son of William J. Morrisey Sr. and Lillian Scully Morrisey, he graduated from Arlington Memorial High School in 1935. He was employed by the U.S. Postal Service in North Adams as a letter carrier and as a postal clerk. He retired in 1978 with more than 35 years of service. While in North Adams, Mr. Morrisey was a communicant of St. Francis' Church and a longtime member of the North Adams Country Club. In Lake Worth, he was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and a member of the Lake Worth Golf Club. He was also a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. He leaves his wife, the former Lois B. Blanchard, whom he married July 27, 1963, in St. Francis' Church. The funeral will be Friday, May 18, at 10:15 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 at St. Francis of Assisi Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Thursday, May 17, from 6 to 8. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested for St. Francis' Church or Hospice of Lake Worth, Fla. He was predeceased by three sisters, Annette Spellacy, Catherine Morrisey and Maria Morrisey.
