Frank C. Pullaro

Frank C. Pullaro, 87, of 176 Columbus Ave., Apartment 112 B, Berkshiretown Apartments, died Wednesday at Mount Greylock Extended Care Facility. He was admitted May 17. Born in Pittsfield on Aug. 3, 1913, son of James and Maria Mazzotta Pullaro, he attended local schools. An Army veteran of World War II, he served with the military police. Mr. Pullaro was employed for 10 years by the New Haven & New York Railroad and by GE for 32 years, retiring from the ordnance department in 1974. He was a communicant of Mount Carmel Church and a 3rd-Degree member of the Monsignor Eugene Marshall Knights of Columbus Council 103 of Pittsfield. He was also a member of the GE Quarter Century and Pensioners' clubs, and a former member of the Ralph J. Froio Senior Center. He was a guitarist in the former Wordy's Way Orchestra in 1939. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and playing cards, and was a Red Sox fan. He and his wife, the former Enis T. Pariselli, would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary June 14. Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters, Mary A. Cranson and Elaine B. Raymond, both of Pittsfield; a brother, Nicholas Pullaro of Pittsfield; eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Diane M. Hebert. The funeral will be Saturday, June 2, at 8 from FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church celebrated by the Rev. Christopher J. Waitekus, associate pastor of St. Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee, a nephew of Mr. Pullaro. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Friday, June 1, from 4 to 8. The Mount Carmel Church Ladies' Guild will meet Friday at 6 for a Vigil Service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Berkshire County Jimmy Fund or the Mount Carmel Church Centennial Organ Fund in care of the funeral home.
