Renaldo Ricciarini

Renaldo R. Ricciarini, 82, of 58 Belvidere Ave. died Wednesday at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Pittsfield on July 19, 1918, son of Oreste and Isola Rossetti Ricciarini, he graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1935. A Navy veteran of World War II, he served from 1943-46 and was a motor mechanic. He was employed by GE for 34 years, retiring in 1980 from the ordnance department as a machinist. Mr. Ricciarini was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church. He was a member of the GE Quarter Century and Pensioners clubs and the GEAA. He was a former umpire and former member of the Berkshire County Umpires Association. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, bowling and gardening. He was also an avid Red Sox fan. He leaves his wife, the former Olive M. Pompi, whom he married Feb. 15, 1947; four sons, Peter J. Ricciarini, Paul A. Ricciarini, Stephen M. Ricciarini and Christopher J. Ricciarini, all of Pittsfield; a sister, Mary Kearns of Dalton; and five grandchildren. Predeceased by a daughter, Marie Theresa Ricciarini, and a sister, Alice Robbins. Funeral services will take place Friday, June 8, at 9 from the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St., followed by Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at Sacred Heart Church in Pittsfield. Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at the Flynn & Dagnoli- Bencivenga Funeral Home will be Thursday, June 7, from 4 to 7. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sacred Heart Church, care of the funeral home.
