Raymond Rarick

Raymond Charles Rarick, 76, of 490 Middle Road died Tuesday at North Adams Regional Hospital, where he was admitted Friday. Born in North Adams on Sept. 26, 1924, son of Abraham L. and Adelina Riendeau Rarick, he attended North Adams schools, including Drury High School. He had resided in Clarksburg for 55 years. He was a World War II Army veteran, having served in the European, African and Middle Eastern theaters. After his military service, Mr. Rarick was employed by the former Brewer Brothers automobile dealership as a mechanic. He later started his own business, the former Ray's Garage in Clarksburg, which he operated for 25 years. He was then employed by the former General Cable Corp. in Williamstown and the former Arnold Print Works in Adams. He was most recently employed as a bus driver for the J.T. Bus Lines Co., until his retirement in 1985. He was a member of the Dr. George L. Curran Post 996, Veterans of Foreign Wars, in North Adams. His wife, the former Betty H. Battis, whom he married May 29, 1946, died April 27, 1995. He leaves two sons, James H. Rarick and Stephen R. Rarick, with whom he made his home; a brother, Harold Rarick of Provo, Utah, and a grandson.
