Irene Lemieux-Carsno

Irene Marie Lemieux-Carsno, 90, formerly of 810 South Church St., died Sunday at Williamstown Commons in Williamstown, where she had resided since Sept. 30, 1997. Born in North Adams on July 25, 1910, daughter of Adolph and Lena Benoit Babeu, she attended the former Notre Dame Parochial School. In her younger years, Mrs. Lemieux-Carsno was employed by the former Greylock division of Berkshire Fine Spinning Associates. Before retiring in 1950, she was self-employed in housekeeping and home care for families in Northern Berkshire. She was a communicant of Notre Dame Church. Her first husband, Hector Lemieux, died Nov. 5, 1934. Her husband, Edward Alexander Carsno, whom she married May 1, 1941, died Dec. 14, 1984. She leaves a son, Francis H. Lemieux of Clarksburg; a brother, Philip Babeu of North Adams; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. The funeral will be tomorrow, June 26, at 8:15 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 at Notre Dame du Sacre Coeur Church, North Adams. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery. No calling hours. Predeceased by sisters, Adele Vadnais, Evelyn Lemieux, Doris Babeu and Florence Lincoln.
