Edward Sabino "Soapy" Trisorio

Edward Sabino "Soapy" Trisorio, 90, of 1224 South Peninsula Drive, Apt. 512, Daytona Beach, Florida died Tuesday, June 26, 2001 at his home. He was a former resident of North Adams, MA. He was born in Cannoza di Puglia, Province of Bari, Italy on January 6, 1911 a son of the late Mattao Liberato Trisorio and Francesca (Caccavo) Trisorio. He attended schools in Italy until 1920 when he came to the United States with his family. He completed his education in North Adams schools. He moved to Quincy, Massachusetts in 1937 and was employed with the Howard Johnson Restaurant Corporation in Quincy until the outbreak of World War II. He enlisted in the U. S. Army on November 18,1941 and served as a Technician 5th Grade with the 111th Evacuation Hospital in England, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany in the battles of Northern France , Rhineland and Central Europe. H e was awarded the Victory Medal, The American Theater Campaign Medal and the European, African, Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Medal. He was honorably discharged on January 30, 1946. Following World War II, Mr. Trisorio returned to Quincy MA and was employed as Assistant Manager of the Howard Johnson Restaurant until he transferred as Liquor Supervisor for the Red Coach Grill Restaurant, which was owned by the Howard Johnson Corporation. He traveled extensively throughout the United States setting up new locations for the Red Coach Grill Restaurants. In 1956, Mr. Trisorio resigned his position with the Red Coach Grill Restaurants and became a real estate broker in Hyannis on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. H e remained in the real estate business until his retirement in the mid-1970’s. He moved to Florida in 1983, but made frequent visits to North Adams from 1937 to last year. He was a communicant of St. Epiphany Church of Daytona Beach, FL, and St Anthony of Padua Church of North Adams, MA. H e was a member of the Oceans West Golf Club of Daytona Beach, FL. He was a former owner of the Windjammer Cocktail Lounge in Hyannis MA, and of the Airport Real Estate, Inc of Hyannis, Cape Cod. He was a former member of the Cape Cod Board of Realtors. Survivors include one sister Antoinette Rosse of North Adams, and one brother, Michael Trisoriao of Clarksburg, MA, and nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. A sister, Jennie Petrovice dies on July 11, 2000. Funeral services for Edward S. Trisorio will take place Monday, July 2, 2001 at 1:30 P.M. at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home For Funerals, CENTRAL CHAPELS, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, Ma, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 2:30 PM at St Anthony of Padua Church, North Adams. Burial will follow in the family plot at Southview Cemetery North Adams. Calling hours at the funeral home are Sunday, July 1, 2001 from 4 PM to 6 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested for the St. Anthony Building Fund through the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home For Funerals, 74 Marshall St. North Adams, MA, 01247 which is in charge of arrangements.
