MARGARET E. BOSSIDY

Margaret E. Bossidy, 83, of 80 Housatonic St. died Tuesday at Laurel Lake Center. Born in Pittsfield on Nov. 26, 1917, daughter of Thomas J. and Mary E. Kiely Murphy, she spent her younger years in Stockbridge and graduated from the former Williams High School in 1935. She was employed as a telephone operator for New England Telephone Co. in Stockbridge from 1936 to 1940. She also worked for the Lee Board of Health for a number of years under the direction of Dr. Charles W. Stratton, and then worked as a secretary for the Lee Chamber of Commerce from 1959 until her retirement in 1979. Mrs. Bossidy was a communicant of St. Mary's Church. She was also a member of the Greenock Country Club in Lee and the Lenox Riding Club. Her husband, Robert H. Bossidy, whom she married Oct. 29, 1940, died Feb. 19, 1997. She leaves a brother, William D. Murphy of Lee. Mrs. Bossidy is also survived by several cousins. The funeral will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. from the KELLY FUNERAL HOME with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 at St. Mary's Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visiting hours at the Kelly Funeral Home will be Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral. Friends wishing may make donations to the Lee V.N.A. or to St. Mary's Church in care of the funeral home.
