RUTH O. LEVESQUE

Ruth O. Levesque, 87, of 99 Second St. died Wednesday at home. Born in East Kingston, N.Y., on Aug. 25, 1913, daughter of James J. and Delia Curtis O'Bryan, she moved to Cheshire in 1920 and attended schools there. She resided in Cheshire until 1964. She also lived in Pompano Beach, Fla., before returning to Pittsfield. A homemaker, Mrs. Levesque was employed by Berkshire Woolen Mills in Adams during the 1950s. She performed domestic work while living in Florida. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and traveling. Her husband, Louis J. Levesque, whom she married May 15, 1933, died in August 1965. She leaves a son, Louis V. Levesque of Richmond; a daughter, Charlotte J. Gagne of Pittsfield; a sister, Kathleen Knopp of North Adams; eight grandchildren, and several great- and great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Richard Levesque, who died in 1940. Funeral services for Ruth O. Levesque, 87, who died Dec. 27, 2000, will be private. Burial will be in Cheshire Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, or to the charity of the donor's choice in care of DERY-CHESHIRE FUNERAL HOME, 121 North State Road, Cheshire, MA 01225. Mrs. Levesque was predeceased by a son, Richard Levesque, who died in 1940.
