AMELIA H. SERAFIN

Amelia H. Serafin, 73, of 26 Alcove St. died Sunday morning at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Pittsfield on April 5, 1927, daughter of Stanley and Blanche Parda Ciezar, she was a 1945 graduate of Pittsfield High School and a 1948 graduate of the former St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing. Mrs. Serafin was employed as a registered nurse at St. Luke's for 28 years, retiring in 1976. She was later employed by Quality Printing. She was a communicant of Holy Family Church and a member of its Rosary Sodality, and a member of the St. Luke's Alumnae Association. Her husband, Stanley T. Serafin, whom she married May 7, 1949, died Oct. 30, 1977. She leaves a daughter, Susan A. Serafin, with whom she made her home; a son, Stanley T. Serafin of Cheshire; a sister, Sophie Radgowski of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., and three granddaughters, Caitlin, Danielle and Lindsay Serafin. Beloved mother-in-law to Judith Serafin. She also leaves her brother-in-law, Joseph Skrocki, and niece, Joanne Skrocki. The funeral will be Thursday, Jan. 4, at 8:15 from DWYER FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 in Holy Family Church celebrated by the Rev. Eugene Suszek, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. There will be no calling hours at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Luke's Alumnae Association in care of DWYER FUNERAL HOME.
