WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Nathan's Majumder's senior season playing for the Mount Greylock boys' soccer team got a little sweeter on Wednesday, as the Mounties' midfielder netted his third hat trick of the season to pass the 100-point barrier for his career and lead Greylock to a 4-0 home win over Drury.

Majumder found the back of the net three times in the first 14 minutes of the game, helping the Mounties (11-2-1) get off to a quick start and putting himself in rare company in the program's history. Majumder's first goal, one he knocked in off a rebound four minutes into the game, gave him his 100th career point at Greylock. He didn't waste much time adding to that total either, scoring off a 20-yard strike a minute later. Majumder finished off his hat trick by sending home another rebound from 10 yards out in the 14th minute of play.

The Mounties' captain now has 18 goals and eight assists this year for a Greylock squad that sits atop the North Division standings with an overall record of 11-2-1. Mounties head coach Blair Dils said his team has always given two points for a goal and one point for an assist, numbers that sometime differ from other programs that give one point for either a goal or an assist. Regardless, Majumder's totals are staggering considering the top-level competition the Greylock plays in the North Division and throughout the state each year.

"Going over the 100-point mark is a rare feat," Dils said. "Tyler Grees (Class of 2010) is the only other player I've coached who had gone over the 100-point barrier."

Junior Zach Leamon finished the scoring off for the hosts in the 36th minute, finding the back of the net off an assist from sophomore Ian Brink. Dils said he was pleased with his team's performance after a tough, emotional 2-1 win over North Division rival Monument Mountain on Monday.

"We wanted to come out strong and take the mystery out of the game and build off the excitement we generated on Monday [against Monument]," Dils said. "I was pleased to see the boys mentally tough right from the beginning of the match."

While the Mounties controlled the first half, the Blue Devils (2-9-2) stayed competitive by shutting the door on Greylock in the second half. Junior goalie Joseph Liporace made 10 saves in the game for Drury, which fell to 2-9-2 with the loss.

"Drury played hard throughout the match," Dils said. "They were able to send Ryan Ouimet in alone with about 20 minutes left in the first half, but Sean [Houston] made a great save on him. Drury played strong defense in the second half, holding us scoreless, but they weren't able to generate too much of an attack. They may be having a tough time of it this year, but they have a number of strong young players who will get them into the thick of things in the next few years."

Houston had two saves in net before giving way to backup keepers Cal Filson and Alejandro Viquez-Salas. All three combined to give Greylock its eighth shutout of the year.

The Mounties next play at Pittsfield at 11 a.m. on Saturday. The Blue Devils resume play on Monday night with a rivalry game against Hoosac Valley at 7 p.m. at Renfrew Field.
