GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — Monument Mountain took very little time making sure they would stay unbeaten as the Spartans came out and scored four goals in the first 20 minutes of the first half against Mount Everett on Saturday morning.

Ian Akers started the scoring in the 13th minute, assisted by Emil Ghitman-Gikes. Bobby Kinne then assisted on Chris Peretti's goal just two minutes later. Lucas Wartella and Jason Laramee followed with goals in the 17th and 18th minute.

The Spartans (9-0-1) were not done as Danny Huertas scored his first of two goals unassisted in the 33rd minute and Juri Kin finished the scoring in the first half with a goal in the 38th minute assisted by Danny Wartella.

Mount Everett (4-7-0) did not put up much of an attack as the Spartan offense kept the pressure on the Eagles side of the field most of the game. In the 47th minute Kinne got in the act scoring an unassisted goal and Huertas landed his second of the day in the 71st minute to make the final score 8-0.

Monument took 21 shots to Mount Everett's one. Both teams are back in action Monday, Oct. 15 as Monument Mountain will play at Mount Greylock at 4:15 p.m. and Mount Everett will host Drury at 4:30 p.m.
