WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Mount Greylock junior Diego Galvez scored midway through the second half Tuesday to give the Mounties a 1-0 win over Hoosac Valley at Berkshire Community College.

Galvez on the right wing received a ball out of the back from Noah Klompus and ripped a shot from about 30 yards into the far corner of the goal.

Mount Greylock outshot the Hurricanes by a margin of 8-2.

But Hoosac Valley (0-3) had a fair number of chances in the second half - several that went just wide of the mark.

The Hurricanes' best chance to tie the game came in the 65th minute, when Isaac Hermann intercepted a clear from the Mounties' keeper and got off a shot on goal.

Lucas Waterman kept Hoosac Valley in the game in the first half, making five of his seven saves in the period.

Hoosac Valley is scheduled to play Pittsfield on Friday at BCC. Mount Greylock (3-0-1) goes to BCC on Sunday to face Lenox.

The game was telecast by Pittsfield Community Television.
