Pittsfield Girls Shut Out Drury

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Abby Wong scored twice and set up a goal Thursday to lead the Pittsfield girls soccer team to a 4-0 win over Drury.

 

Maddie Pope and Hannah Dalton each scored a goal, and Sophia Schnackenberg recorded two assists for the Generals, who were up, 3-0, at half-time.

 

“We played brilliantly today and moved the ball so well,” Pittsfield coach Molly West said. “Giselle Cormier - who is back from an injury - was instrumental in controlling the middle of the field and distributed wide and fast. She and Sophia Schnackenberg are already clicking. 

 

“Defensively, Asia Smith-Moody and Hannah Dalton were strong up the middle and Ella Kroboth made some amazing saves, showing how much she has improved in her first season.”

 

Ella Kroboth made six saves in Pittsfield’s goal.

 

Addisyn Shepard stopped 13 shots for Drury (2-4), which hosts Mount Greylock on Monday.

 

Pittsfield (2-4) hosts Mount Anthony Union of Vermont on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Kirvin Park.
