PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- After a pair of close losses to a couple of tough North Division opponents, the Mount Greylock girls' soccer team broke its only two-game losing streak of the year by earning a hard-fought 2-0 win over Saint Joseph's on Friday.

Sophomore forward Sophie Leamon scored both goals for the Mounties (6-3-2) within a seven-minute span in the second half. She first took a pass from classmate Miranda Bucky and found the back of the net 13 minutes into the second half. Leamon then added an insurance goal in the 60th minute, volleying home a cross off of the foot of senior Annie Flynn.

"We dominated the game but had trouble finishing" Greylock head coach Tom Ostheimer said. "Finally, we capitalized on our opportunities in the second half and wore them down."

Junior Margot Besnard made four saves in the Mounties' goal to earn her sixth shutout of the season, while Kendall Smith stopped nine shots in net for the Crusaders.

Greylock next hosts Monument Mountain at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
