Monument Mountain Downs Lenox

LENOX, Mass. -- Lucille Dohoney scored a pair of goals and set up one more Friday to lead the Monument Mountain girls soccer team to a 4-2 win over Lenox.

 

Mercedes Raifstanger scored a goal and set up two others, and Gabriella Lopez found the back of the net for the Spartans.

 

For Lenox, Lauren Bridges and Jane Elliot each scored a goal on assists from Cate Welch and Claire Welch, respectively.

 

"I'm really proud of our young team," Lenox coach William Welch said. "Going up by two in the first half, they proved they have the quality to hang with a much older Monument side. Unfortunately, Monument Mountain was able to outlast us with their much larger bench."

 

Lenox (1-1) goes to Easthampton on Monday.

 

Monument Mountain (2-0) is at Wahconah on Monday.
