Wahconah Girls Down Lenox
DALTON, Mass. – Danielle Hagmaier scored a pair of goals Friday to lead the Wahconah girls soccer team to a 3-0 win over Lenox.
“Our first goal was scored off a corner kick in the first half with a header by Danielle Hagmaier,” Wahconah coach Maggie Rivers said. “If you know Danielle, you know how long she has been working for a head ball goal.”
Midway through the second half, Hagmaier headed in another goal off a free kick from Brooke Harrington.
Harrington finished the scoring with 3 minutes, 48 seconds remaining with an assist from Olivia Johnson.
Lenox nearly ruined the shutout bid for Vivian Higuera (four saves) in the final minute.
“With 30 seconds left in the game, [Lenox’s Jane] Elliott got behind the Warriors’ defense, and Remi Dicicco made an amazing run to stop the attack and clear the ball out,” Rivers said.
Eva Brof made 14 saves in net for the Millionaires.
Lenox (2-2) hosts Mount Greylock on Tuesday.
Wahconah (3-1) goes to Drury on Tuesday.
