Mount Greylock Boys, Girls Sweep Mount Everett

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- The Mount Greylock boys and girls tennis teams rolled into Thursday's showdowns at Monument Mountain with a pair of 5-0 wins over Mount Everett on Tuesday afternoon.
 
The closest match of the day was at No. 1 singles on the boys side, where Nyein Soe defeated Jacob Malicky, 7-6 (9-7), 6-4.
 
At No. 2, Will Nolan beat Jonah Malicky, 6-3, 6-0, and at No. 3, Alex Cheunt beat Patrick Hogelin, 6-3, 7-5.
 
Mount Greylock's boys won the doubles matches without dropping a game. Jake Foehl and Gray Kaegi won at No. 1, and Matt and Aaron Kleiner again teamed up at No. 2.
 
On the girls side, Tara Shastri had an easier time in her No. 1 match, defeating Ashlee Shaw, 6-0, 6-0.
 
No. 3 Mariza Sfakianaki also "bagled" her opponent, and Melina Sfakianki defeated Maya Neski, 6-1, 6-3.
 
Mount Greylock's No. 1 doubles team of Charlotte Rand and Katie Mick won without dropping a game. At second doubles, Rachel Swoap and Amy Larabee won, 6-1, 6-1.
