STAMFORD, Vt. -- Doug Sigsbury carded a 37 to lead the Drury High School golf team to a 154-163 win over Pittsfield on Friday at Stamford Valley Golf Course.

Nick Bator and Nick Trombley each carded a 38, and Nick Boulger came in at 41 for the Blue Devils in the season opener for both teams.

"I'm extremely pleased with the opening scores for the season," Drury coach Don Dagnoli said. "We lost our best player from last year, but we returned five starters. You never know what you've got until you play a match."

Pittsfield's Justin Martin took medalist honors with an even par 36. Jerry McDonough and Kevin Quinto carded 41s, and Dennis Cooney carded a 45 for the Generals.

"Justin Martin obviously had a great day for Pittsfield," Dagnoli said. "He had four birdies to shoot even par. We were able to offset that with three guys in the 30s."

Drury travels to face Taconic on Tuesday at Berkshire Hills Country Club.
