Drury Bowlers Take Over First-Place in County
PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Kayla Field rolled the top series of the day among girls to lead the Drury bowling team to a 29-2 win over Mount Everett on Friday as the Blue Devils took over sole possession of first place in the Berkshire County bowling league.
Field rolled a 369 series with a high game of 190 to help Drury to the lopsided victory.
Drury entered Friday's action tied with Pittsfield for first place in the league. Although the Generals also won their match on Friday at Ken's Bowl, their 19-12 win over Mount Everett left them with 10 fewer points on the day than Drury in the season standings.
Entering Tuesday's action at Mount Greylock Bowl in North Adams, Drury has a 152-142 lead over second-place Pittsfield, with third-place Lee just behind at 140.
Drury plays sixth-place St. Joseph on Tuesday. Pittsfield has 10th-place Lenox. Lee bowls against fifth-place Wahconah.
On Friday at Ken's, Monument's Tom Hankey Jr. had the best game (268) and best series (500). Lee's J.T. Sorrentino rolled a 436 series.
