STOCKBRIDGE, Mass. — The Drury High School golf team competed in the Western Mass. Sectional Championship at Stockbridge Country Club on Monday, finishing third in the eight-team field with a score of 365.

Palmer won the event after finishing tied at 351 with Granby, but taking the fifth score tie-breaker.

Senior Alex Boulger led Drury, shooting an 85 on the par 71 layout and tied fourth overall. Junior Matt Lawrence shot an 89, followed by freshmen Nick Bator (94) and Nick Boulger (97). Sophomores Jeff Hancock and Nick Trombley each put up 101.

Only two golfers broke 80 on the cold and windy morning, including Hoosac Valley's Chad Alibozek, who shot a 75 and finished second overall.

Although only the top-two teams advance to the state team finals, both Alex Boulger and Alibozek will advance to the State Individual Championship, scheduled for Monday, Oct. 29, at the Larry Gannon Municipal Golf Course in Lynn.
