Swotes Shines in OT Loss for Mount Everett

COLONIE, N.Y. -- Mount Everett's Jonah Swotes earned tournament Most Valuable Player honors as the Eagles dropped a 2-1 decision in overtime of the CBA Brothers Cup title game on Sunday afternoon.
 
Swotes made 24 saves in Sunday's loss to Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake, N.Y.
 
The Spartans scored first in the first period, but Mount Everett (3-1-1) answered with a goal by Jacob Malicky, assisted by Jake Corcoran and Noah Hunter.
 
It stayed 1-1 until Burnt Hills' Ian Speck scored from the slot in OT.
 
Mount Everett hosts St. Mary's on Monday at 2 p.m. at the Berkshire School.
