Taconic Icers Top Wahconah

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Four different players scored to lead Taconic to a 4-2 win over Wahconah on Saturday night at the Peter W. Foote Vietnam Veterans Memorial Rink.
 
Brandan Peaslee and Kevin Quinto each had a goal and an assist, and Mike Schnopp made 16 saves in the win.
 
Wahconah took a 1-0 lead into the first intermission after a goal by Devon Baittini.
 
But eight seconds into the second period, Connor Conant scored an unassisted, short-handed goal to tie the game.
 
Taconic killed off the rest of that penalty and then got goals from Peaslee (assisted by Quinto) and Quinto (assisted by Peaslee) to take a 3-1 lead into the third.
 
Harrison Rapant set up Andy Cella for an insurance goal early in the third, and Wahconah's Dan Flynn got his team back within two with just less than five minutes to go.
 
Taconic (4-6-1) takes on Wahconah again on Jan. 26 Monday night at Williams College's Lansing Chapman Rink.
