St. Joe Lacrosse Scores Late to Edge Hoosac

CHESHIRE, Mass. -- Brendon Faas scored with 3 minutes, 45 seconds left to give St. Joseph's boys lacrosse team a 9-8 win over Hoosac Valley on Wednesday afternoon.
 
Faas scored three goals, and Sam Thomason scored two a pair for the Crusaders, who also got tallies from Cody O'Dowd, Chris Gagja and Levi Lawson.
 
It was a back-and-forth game in which neither team led by more than two.
 
St. Joe took a 7-5 lead late in the third quarter, only to see the Crusaders battle back to tie it on two of Brendon Ellsworth's four goals.
 
Thomason scored early in the fourth to give St. Joe an 8-7 lead, but Stephin Wallace scored his second goal of the game with just more than five minutes left to tie it again.
 
Wyatt Porter stopped six shots to get the win.
 
Hoosac's Cam Alibozek had 15 saves.
