Mount Greylock Boys Tennis Stays Unbeaten, Reaches Western Mass Final

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- The Mount Greylock boys tennis team swept the doubles competition to earn a 3-2 win over South Hadley on Wednesday in the Western Massachusetts Division 3 semi-finals.
 
The Mounties' tandems of Jake Foehl/Gray Kaegi at No. 1 and Matt Wiseman/Brady Foehl at No. 2 each recorded a 6-1, 6-1 victory to go along with Will Nolan's 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles.
 
At No. 1, South Hadley's Mike Miele outlasted Nyein Soe for a 6-4, 0-6, 6-1 win.
 
At No. 3, Matt Gelinas defeated Josh Narey, 7-5, 6-0.
 
Seconded-seeded Mount Greylock (18-0) will face the winner of Thursday's match between No. 1 Greenfield (17-0) and No. 4 Belchertown (11-8) in the sectional final. On Wednesday night, the MIAA's website listed that match for Friday -- time and place to be determined.
