Mount Greylock Girls Lacrosse Pitches Shutout

CHESHIRE, Mass. -- Maggie Rorke scored three four goals to lead the Mount Greylock girls lacrosse team to an 13-0 18-0 win  over Hoosac Valley on Monday afternoon.
 
Sarah Stripp had a hat trick, and Lucy Barrett and Julia Whitney each scored twice for the Mounties, who got two saves from the tandem of Paige  Willis and Sam MacWhinnie.
 
Kelsey Holsey made 13 saves for the Hoosac/Drury cooperative team, which faced a 13-0 deficit at half-time.
 
"We are a young, inexperienced team to begin with, starting five seventh and eighth graders," Hoosac coach Molly Mecywor said. "Despite our inexperience, I am extremely proud of my team and how hard they work every day to improve in all areas of the game."
 
Kelsey Orpin, Miranda Bucky, Rachel Clement, Hope Wilis, Haley Reinhard, Alana Chesney and Caroline Flynn each scored a goal for Mount Greylock.
 
The Mounties are home against Pittsfield on Saturday at 11 a.m.
 
Hoosac Valley travels to Pittsfield on Wednesday.
