Pittsfield Girls, Mount Greylock Boys Tennis Earn Wins

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Kaytlin Barcus and the doubles team of Anna Worley and Anna Black survived three-setters to lead the Pittsfield girls tennis team to a 3-2 win over Mount Greylock on Monday.
 
In boys competition, the Mounties did not drop a set on the way to a 5-0 win over the Generals.
 
On the girls side, Mount Greylock got a straight-set win from Tara Shastri at No. 1 singles. She defeated Sharanya Ganesh, 6-0, 6-1.
 
At No. 2, Mount Greylock's Amy Larabee pushed Barcus to three sets before falling, 3-6, 6-3, 7-5.
 
Mallory Northrup earned a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 3 singles for the Generals.
 
At No. 1 doubles, Worley and Black prevailed 7-6 (7-2), 4-6, 6-2. Jalyn Devadoss and Josie Dalsin won a No. 3 doubles match decided by a super tiebreaker, 6-7 (7-5), 6-3, 8-6.
 
In the boys match, Nos. 1 and 2 Nyeien Soe and Will Nolan won with just two games dropped between them. At No. 3, Josh Narey battled to a 7-6 (7-5), 6-4 win over Caleb Hould.
 
The Mounties picked up straight-set doubles wins from the teams of Jake Foehl/Gray Kaegi and Matt Wiseman/Brady Foehl.
