Pittsfield Golfers Edge Mount Greylock

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Justin Martin birdied two holes on his way to a 5-over-par 40 that earned him medalist honors and led the Pittsfield golf team to a 169-172 win over Mount Greylock on Monday at the Country Club of Pittsfield as the Generals earned a share of the Berkshire North title.
 
Martin birdied the 288-yard, par-4 fifth hole and the 165-yard, par-3 ninth hole.
 
He was followed by three teammates at 45 or better. Jake Driscoll carded a 41, and Ricky Berrian and Kevin Quinto finished at 43 and 45, respectively.
 
For Mount Greylock, Kyle Alvarez and Ben Gilooly each carded a 42. Alvarez’ day included a birdie on the 153-yard, par-3 fourth hole. Mounties Tenley Smith (43) and Mark Hayden (45) also recorded a birdie apiece. Smith and Hunter Sarkis (45) scored for Mount Greylock.
