NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Led by a strong start by senior Max Quinn, the Drury baseball team worked its way back to the .500 mark and earned its second straight win with a 9-2 home victory over Mohawk on Friday.

Quinn helped the Blue Devils improve their record to 6-6 on the year by tossing five strong innings, allowing two runs on two walks with five strikeouts. Classmate Joel Giorgi locked up the victory by pitching two innings of scoreless relief, finishing things up for a Drury team that scored runs in each of the first five innings.

"This was a big win for the program today," Blue Devils head coach Al Marceau said. "Our starting pitcher was in question due to exams, but Max showed up and pitched a heck of a game. This gets us back to the .500 mark with some big games coming up. Offensively, we had a host of players contribute. Alex Bush had a nice day with two RBI and three stolen bases. It was a nice game all around."

Bush and senior Robert Jutras each drove in a pair of runs for Drury, while junior Ryan Ouimet and sophomore Isiah Clark led their team's 10-hit attack with two hits apiece. Giorgi, Ouimet and junior Kodey Bryce each smacked triples on the day.

The Blue Devils next host rival Hoosac Valley at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday in a game rescheduled from earlier in the week.
