NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – Matt Lowe Tuesday singled to left in the top of the ninth to drive in the winning run as the Mount Everett baseball team outlasted McCann Tech, 14-9, at Joe Wolfe Field.

Lowe finished the day 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs to help spark the Eagles offense, which exploded for seven runs in the top of the fifth to take a 9-8 lead.

The Hornets came back with a run in the bottom of the sixth on a Noah DeBenedetto sacrifice fly to score Collin Booth and tie the game, 9-9.

But Mount Everett went on to score five in a ninth inning that, like much of the game, was punctuated by defensive miscues.

McCann Tech committed two errors and had a pitch get to the backstop and a hit batter in the ninth inning.

Each team committed eight errors in the game.

Offensively, Nathaniel von Ruden and Jacob Kreis each had three hits in a 14-hit attack for the Eagles. Heyden Cutliip tripled; he also crossed the plate three times, as did von Ruden.

Von Ruden earned the win on the mound with three innings of scoreless relief of Lowe, who allowed just three earned runs in six innings.

Three pitchers took the mound for the Hornets. Collin Booth was tagged with the loss despite allowing no earned runs in 3-? innings and striking out four while walking none.

Josh Livsey led McCann Tech’s offense, going 2-for-3 with three RBIs.

The Hornets (8-5) host Drury on Thursday.

Mount Everett (9-4) hosts Lenox on Thursday.
