FALLS VILLAGE, Conn. – Jacob Kreis hit a two-run double to tie the game and scored the winning run in the top of the seventh on Friday to give the Mount Everett baseball team a 9-8 win over Housatonic Valley.

“We were able to steal a victory on a day we did not play well,” Mount Everett coach Dan Lanoue said after the Eagles committed three errors.

Mount Everett started the seventh inning down by two runs but saw the first two batters hit by a pitch.

Kreis then doubled to right center to clear the bases and tie the game, 8-8.

He stole third base and was able to get home when the throw went into left field.

Michael Ullrich struck out the side in the bottom of the seventh to earn a save. Michael Devoti pitched 4-? innings of one-run relief to earn the win.

In addition to Kreis double, Nathaniel von Ruden’s triple highlighted a seven-hit attack for Mount Everett.
