SHEFFIELD, Mass. — Mount Greylock's Ian Brink struck out nine in five innings of work and hit a two-run single to lead the Mounties to a 6-0 win over Mount Everett on Thursday.

Brink allowed just one hit and one walk in helping Mount Greylock improve to 8-3 this spring.

At the plate, he went 2-for-5 and had the key hit in a four-run fourth inning that broke open a 1-0 game for the visitors.

Robby Buffis got the rally started with a single and moved up on a hit by Nick Bolognia. After a groundout left runners on first and second, Eric Hirsch walked to load the bases.

Two batters later, Brink drove in two runs with a hit to right. Hirsch ended up stealing home, and Brink came in on Nick Disanti's single to center.

Bolognia went 2-for-2. Hirsch, Disanti and Buffis each went 2-for-4.

Adam Hall pitched two innings of no-hit relief for the Mounties.

Matt Morehouse had the lone hit for Mount Everett. The Eagles' Zach Fife went the distance on the mound, striking out three against two walks and 14 hits.

Mount Greylock hosts St. Mary's on Monday.
