WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Junior Andrew Leitch gave the Mount Greylock baseball team its second straight solid start in a row, and the Mounties' offense scored double-digits for the fourth time this season in Greylock's 10-2 home win over Wahconah on Friday.

One game after senior Avery Cunningham allowed just three hits in a win over Lee, Leitch nearly matched him with a complete-game four-hitter, allowing two earned runs and three walks. Leitch struck out five batters to improve his record to 2-1 this season, while the Mounties jump to 5-2 overall with the win.

While the final score might have seemed one-sided, the Warriors (4-6) stayed in the game until Greylock broke out for five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. Wahconah tied the game at 1-1 in the top of the fourth, but the hosts retook the lead in the bottom half of the frame when senior Josh Fortier grounded into a double play, scoring junior Eric Leitch from third base. That seemed to give the Mounties the momentum it needed in the fifth, when Eric Leitch sparked the five-run outburst with a two-run triple.

Eric Leitch also had a double and three RBIs in the game, while leadoff hitter Sean Houston went 3-for-4 with one RBI and two runs scored.

Shawn Folan allowed five earned runs in four-plus innings of work to take the loss for the Warriors. Greylock returns to action with a night game at Hoosac Valley at 7 p.m. on Monday.
