Wahconah Tops Monument Mountain

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. – Jack Hicks and Luke Ferguson each went 2-for-4 with a home run Thursday to lead the Wahconah baseball team to a 7-2 win over Monument Mountain.
 
Scott Hoffmann went 2-for-4 with a double, and James Rabuse doubled in a nine-hit Wahconah attack.
 
Rabuse also provided 1 and a third innings of scoreless relief of starter Sam McLaughlin, who earned the win on the mound with three strikeouts in 5 and two thirds innings.
 
Gus Luf was the hard-luck loser for the Spartans, striking out nine, walking none and allowing just two earned runs in six innings on the mound.
 
Levi Koldys and Dominic Calautti each had a pair of hits for Monument Mountain.
 
The Spartans (2-12) are at Southwick on Friday.
 
Wahconah (12-3) takes a three-game winning streak into Friday’s home game against Ware.
