Wahconah Tops Taconic in Regular-Season Finale

DALTON, Mass. -- Dart Jaggi scored five goals, and 10 of his teammates got into the scorebook Thursday as the Wahconah boys lacrosse team defeated Taconic, 16-2.
 
"This was a fun game to end the regular season," Wahconah coach Zach Sondrini said. "A lot of guys contributed to the win today. We will take this momentum into the playoffs."
 
Matt Mathers and Cole Accardi each had a goal and three assists, and Jeremy Girard had a hat trick with two assists.
 
Dom Orlandi and Joe Whitaker combined to make eight saves in the Wahconah goal.
 
Troy Schweitzer made 18 saves for Taconic, which got a pair of goals from Sal Amaral as it finished its season at 3-14.
 
Wahconah (14-4) takes an eight-game winning streak into the Central/Western Massachusetts Championship.
 
The seeding meeting for the sectional tournament is Friday in West Springfield.
