Ziemba Leads Hornets to OT Win

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – Four days after getting the first win in its program’s history, the McCann Tech girls lacrosse team earned the first overtime win in its history.
 
Taylor Ziemba scored in overtime Friday to give the Hornets an 11-10 win over Lee for McCann Tech’s third straight win.
 
Ziemba scored six goals, and Emily Raschdorf made 11 saves in the victory.
 
Gabby Wells-Vidal finished with two goals and an assist, and Carlee Roberts, Jordyn Lloyd and Chloe McBain each scored a goal.
 
Lee trails, 9-7, going to the fourth quarter, but got two goals from Ashley Sonsini and one from Naima Clark in the final 12 minutes. Clark’s score with 6 minutes, 19 seconds left in regulation tied it, 10-10.
 
Sonsini and Clark split the offensive load for Lee, scoring 10 goals apiece. Reese Duschesne played goal for the Wildcats.
 
Lee (1-15) goes to Monson on Wednesday.
 
McCann Tech (3-12) finishes the regular season at Amherst-Pelham on Tuesday.
