Hoosac Valley Girls Lacrosse Improves to 11-0

CHESHIRE, Mass. -- Alie Mendel registered seven points, and Emily Godfrey made nine saves Tuesday to lead the Hoosac Valley girls lacrosse team to an 18-8 win over Pittsfield.
 
“We moved the ball well down the field and our passing on cutters was on point,” Hoosac Valley coach Molly Meczywor said. “Alie, Claudia [Bresett] and Brooke [DiGennaro] improve every game in getting other attackers the ball. Lauren Davis and Karyssa Charon provided tremendous leadership throughout the second half. An overall good game.”
 
Mendel scored four times and set up three more goals, Bresett and Charon each had a hat trick.
 
Sierra Murray scored a game-high five goals for Pittsfield. Danielle Plankey and Madison Manning combined to make 18 saves in the Generals goal.
 
Pittsfield (3-7) goes to Mount Greylock on Thursday.
 
Hoosac Valley (11-0) is at Granby on Wednesday.
