Hurricanes Hand Lee First Loss

ADAMS, Mass. – Genevieve Lagess and Izabella Tart each homered Saturday to lead the Hoosac Valley softball team to a 10-5 win over Lee at Russell Field.
 
Tart went 3-for-4 with a homer, a double and a pair of RBIs to lead a 15-hit attack for the Hurricanes.
 
Lagess finished 2-for-3 and drove in a game-high four runs.
 
Ella Bissaillon went 3-for-4  with a double and a pair of RBIs for the Hurricanes, who stayed unbeaten on the season and handed Lee its first loss.
 
Gracelyn Wright again went the distance in the circle for Hoosac Valley, striking out 10 and walking three.
 
The Hoosac Valley defense bent but did not break, giving up 15 hits, three walks and a hit batter but only surrendering the five runs.
 
Lee got three hits apiece from four players: Bri Lynch, Karalynn Hopkins, Taryn Bannon and Zoe Ozawa. Hopkins doubled twice in a 3-for-4 day at the plate; Bannon also doubled and drove in a pair of runs.
 
Lee’s Bri Lynch struck out seven and walked one in the loss.
 
Lee (5-1) has a rematch with Lenox on Monday.
 
Hoosac Valley (4-0) hosts Drury on Monday.
