LEE, Mass. – Lee High’s Brianna Lynch Friday struck out 16 and did not allow a hit in a complete-game, 1-0 win over Granby in the Wildcats’ regular season finale.

Lynch also had one of two Lee base hits, a double, and stole a base in the Wildcats’ second pitchers duel in three days.

On Wednesday, Lee dropped a 1-0 decision at Monson in the Western Massachusetts Class D Quarter-Finals.

In Thursday’s consolation bracket game, Lynch kept the Rams off the board – erasing a third-inning threat by throwing out a runner at home on an attempted sacrifice bunt with one out and getting a strikeout to strand runners at second and third.

In the sixth, Granby got a runner to third with one out again. Lynch recorded two Ks and a ground ball out to Delaney Reed to strand two Rams.

Offensively, Kayla Clark had the other Lee hit and scored the game’s only run in the bottom of the second.

Clark reached on an infield single to lead off the inning and moved to second when Lily Brancato reached on an error.

Clark took third on defensive indifference and scored on Devyn Fillio’s RBI groundout.

Lee (10-8) waits to learn who it will open play against in next week’s state tournament.
