FRANKLIN, Mass. -- The Drury softball team played one of the toughest schedules around this season, but an end-of-the-season skid cost the Blue Devils when it came to having a home game in the upcoming Division 2 Western Massachusetts Softball Tournament.

Mary Ann Maroni's club lost four out of its last five games to end the regular season at 12-8 and now must travel to Hampshire after receiving the No. 7 seed when the brackets were announced on Tuesday. The Red Raiders finished with an impressive mark of 16-2 and now gets the opportunity to host Drury at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.

While they haven't met this season, Hampshire and Drury have hooked up a number of times in the tournament over the last eight years. The winner of Thursday's contest faces the winner of No. 3 Palmer (16-4) and No. 6 Belchertown (12-8), who face off at 4 p.m. on Thursday at Palmer.
