Hornets Win at Home in State Tournament

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – Emma LeMire struck out nine and walked two Saturday in pitching the McCann Tech softball team to a 5-1 win over Wareham in the first round of the Division 5 State Tournament.

 

Gabby Driscoll led the Hornets’ offense, going 2-for-3. Mackenzie Lemanski singled and drove in a pair of runs. LeMire also had a hit and an RBI to help her cause.

 

Thirteenth-seeded McCann Tech (17-3) advances to the round of 16 to face either No. 4 Maynard or Hull, who meet on Sunday.
