Carpenter Powers Mount Everett Softball to Win

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Gwen Carpenter went 4-for-4 with an RBI to lead the Mount Everett softball team past McCann Tech, 14-2, in five innings on Friday.
 
Chandler Degrenier struck out seven in four innings of work in the circle for the Eagles, who also got an inning of one-hit, shutout ball from Alicia Bazonski.
 
Emily Coon went 2-for-3 with a stolen base and two runs scored for the visitors.
 
Olivia Esoldi and Lexi Andrews each went 2-for-3 for McCann. Andrews and Jamie Meehan each doubled.
 
Haley Malloy went the distance in the circle, allowing 16 hits while striking out five.
 
Both McCann and Mount Everett are headed to the Western Mass tournament next week.
