NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Tori DellaGiustina went 3-for-5 with three RBIs, and the Southwick softball team used three unearned runs to earn an 11-9 win over McCann Tech on Tuesday.

“Unfortunately we couldn't overcome a number of errors in the field,” McCann Tech coach Robin Finnegan said. “However I am pleased with the way we battled Division 2 Southwick. We had them on the ropes and hopefully we learn from this. Southwick is a great hitting team.”

The Hornets led, 8-4, after four innings, but the Rams rallied for four in the fifth to tie it and tacked on three in the seventh to hand the Hornets their first loss.

Sarah Fortini went 3-for-3 with a pair of RBIs, and Megan Goyette went 2-for-4 at the plate for McCann Tech (5-1).

In the circle, Goyette struck out three, walked one and allowed 14 hits.

The Hornets go to Palmer on Thursday.
